Sigmund pillow review: free same-day delivery mattress & pillow

October 15, 2020

If you follow me on Instagram, you'd know that I'm constantly complaining about my incessant backache. My body aches have gotten so bad that I demanded (in the nicest manner possible) to buy a new bed, mattress and pillow at my boyfriend's place. I heaved a deep sigh of relief when Sigmund reached out to send their Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow to me.

For those who have not heard of Sigmund, they specialise in "orthopaedic-approved" mattresses and pillows — the contour of their pillows are optimised for our spine and neck.

Screenshotted this from Sigmund's website because the diagram explains adequately what Sigmund — more specifically, their Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow — does to correct your sleeping posture by providing optimal support and comfort for your neck and spine.

Their pillows are made of premium Tencel material. I'm not a fabric expert, but a quick Google search showed that Tencel tends to be softer than cotton.

I ordered the Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow at night and, to my surprise, there was a timeslot for delivery the following day! I really shouldn't have been so astonished though, given that one of Sigmund's guarantees is free same-day, 1-hour express delivery (terms and conditions apply, of course).

I excitedly unwrapped the pillow. This is what Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow looks like on the bottom.

And what Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow looks like inside (I don't know what I expected by opening it up).

I took a nap excitedly to test out the Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow

The pillow has a medium firmness, exactly as claimed on Sigmund's website. I usually use firm pillows — or as what my boyfriend would describe as pillow as hard as a rock — so it took some time for me to get used to this slightly softer pillow.

Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow was pretty comfortable once I grew accustomed to its firmness. I can't know for sure if it maintains a straight neck for me when I'm asleep since I don't have an X-ray machine at home, but it did alleviate my back and shoulder ache, which is always a good sign considering how much my body hurts from just one bad night of sleep.

Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow is also supposed to contain visco-elastic cells, which allows it to mould perfectly to our neck and shoulders — kinda like the traditional memory foam that we're used to.

If you're thinking of trying the Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow or any of Sigmund's other products, you'll be glad to learn that Sigmund is so confident of their product, they offer a 120-night sleep trial that allows you to return unsatisfactory products.

They also have a 15-year warranty. If you face a problem anytime within the warranty period, they'll be happy to help you fix it.
