Another laugh that's now the best sound I have ever heard

I repeated this several times throughout our relationship, and meant it with the whole of my heart each time. When we broke up, I couldn't imagine myself falling for another guy's laughter. I thought I would never love another person the way I loved him. The thing is, I eventually came to realise that no one loves another person the exact same way and I grew to be okay with that.
Then it happened.
He's not a looker — definitely not my cup of tea by any means — but goddamn, when he laughed, I was spellbound. Captivated. Enchanted. There aren't enough words in the dictionary to describe how his bewitching laughter made my mind giddy and my heart, god save my heart, went into a frenzy as I noticed the gleam in his eyes when he rubbed his nose and bent forward, chortling.

I looked around, eager to share my observations only to realise that nobody noticed the way his eyes lit up when he laughed. What a pity that the people closest to him only saw the front he put up. They were eager to please him as he was to them but they couldn't comprehend the glimpse of him that I caught.
He made a jest of himself but listened earnestly when others spoke. Haughty and snobbish, but his voice was gentle and his laugh hearty. He's no looker by society's standards — this, I'll emphasise again — but man, he was so beautiful in his own way. Maybe that's what people mean when they say everyone has someone for them. 情人眼里出西施嘛。
