How can any girl miss out the chance to take photos at Fantasyland at night? I love all the fairylights Hong Kong Disneyland put up, making the entire theme park look... Magical. I need to stop using that word but Disneyland is where the magic comes alive, am I right?

我的少女时代 vibes. This was when the movie was released just 4 months before so everything was still fresh!

I could barely reach the end of the automobile while Chelsea had to bend her legs

From Fantasyland, we walked to Tomorrowland where Chelsea drove me on Autopia. Halfway through, we realised we might miss the starting of the fireworks because it was getting late T__T I rushed Chelsea to drive quickly (although it was out of her control but I'm an annoying friend like that) and we threatened to just stop in the middle of the path where we could see Fantasyland just to catch the fireworks LOL.

We were about done with Hong Kong Disneyland after Toy Story Land so we walked back to Adventureland to take some rides that we previously missed.

The cruise was seperated into three lines for English, Chinese and Cantonese speakers. We were the most comfortable with English, our first language, so naturally we made a beelined for the English queue. Thankfully, the queue was short and we boarded in no time.

Also, thank God we didn't have to queue for very long in any of the rides. I heard some of my friends queued 1-2 hours for some rides. Insane! Some of them even had to spend that few hours fending off queue-cutters. That'd have been a nghtmare because nothing drives me crazier than people who can't be bothered to stand in line. Really counting my lucky stars that Hong Kong Disneyland turned out to be such a pleasant experience for me.

Toy Story Land

When I travelled there, Toy Story Land was Hong Kong Disneyland's newest expansion and it was still exclusive to Hong Kong Disneyland. As of January 2018, there's a Toy Story Land in Shanghai Disneyland, Walt Disney Studios Park and another is scheduled to open in Disney's Hollywood Studios later this year.



I never watched Disney as a child (I already know your reaction — everyone's horrified when I mentioned that) so I only caught Toy Story 3 when it was released in the cinemas in 2010. It was one of my first Disney movies, making Toy Story Land my favourite part of Hong Kong Disneyland.

I had been repeating the same poses throughout my photos and decided to try something new (stupid) this time LOL

RC Racer

RC Racer is obviously a thrill ride similar to pirate ships you see at carnivals. Being the daredevils we were, we sat at the last row where we would reach the highest point. We went for a second round on RC Racer too!

Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop

Screamed my lungs out on Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop, as expected of me. I might have screamed even louder than some of the kids on this ride because I am terrified of heights.

Grizzly Gulch had a bit of a Wild, Wild West vibe.

Can I just declare Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars as my favourite ride in Hong Kong Disneyland? It's considered a thrill ride with relatively big drops (compared to the other rides in the theme park) and it even featured a backward drop.



We liked the ride so much we took it twice despite running out of time in Hong Kong Disneyland (because we stopped everywhere to take photos what the heck hahaha #vaingirlsproblem)

We walked back into Main Street, where most Disney stores are located at. Main Street is also where you'll find most street performances and Meet & Greets with your favourite Disney characters. Us, being the girls that we are, obviously took every photo opportunity available, and even asked the staff if we could hold the balloons for some photos.

Lots of Tsum Tsum! 2016 was the peak of Tsum Tsum craze.

A middle-aged man followed us around the store and told us he had been observing us for some time — as if it was supposed to be a compliment. He wasn't even there with his grandkids or elderly wife, he was just there alone! I wonder if people actually pay to enter Disneyland to give name cards to young girls like us... In the above photo, I was holding the name card he insistently shove towards us. Guess I'll never find out his motive because I lost his name card long ago.

Duffy bear bottles

I was seriously considering buying a Duffy bear water bottle (~SGD $13) because it was soooo adorableeeeee! But decided against it because every single friend I showed it to said I was being impulsive. But come on, Duffy bear is so cute! How can you ever say no to that? T__T

Since we didn't buy anything for ourselves from Hong Kong Disneyland (only souvenirs for family and friends), we bought ice cream for photo opportunities. Just girls' things.

Tip: Don't edit your photos days apart because they'll look entirely different. Also, featuring my #likeasir pinky finger. Have no idea why my pinky ALWAYS sticks out when I'm holding something.

Albeit out of the way, it was easy to get to Hong Kong Disneyland via MTR. If you're coming from Hong Kong city area, you'll have to switched to Disneyland Resort Line at Sunny Bay Station. Thereafter, Disneyland Resort Station is just one stop away. The trains at Disneyland Resort Line are Disney-themed and you'll see many tourists (me, ahem) snapping away.


Hong Kong Disneyland is very sentimental place for me; when they opened Hong Kong Disneyland 12 years ago in 2006, I was only ten and travelling out of Southeast Asia was an unattainable dream. A decade later, I made it to my first Disneyland. After I graduated and started working, I set foot in countries I only dared to dream about previously.

They say Disneyland is where dreams come true and I believe this is only the beginning. There are so many places I've yet to explore, so many other Disneylands in the world I wanna visit. I can't wait till the day I can say I set foot in every nook and cranny of the world. Slowly, but surely :)


We made our way to Hong Kong Disneyland early in the morning and the queue for tickets was already super long! Thankfully, we got our Disneyland tickets online and managed to skip the queue by just redeeming our tickets at the ticketing koisk.





We were there on 8 March 2016, right before Easter so the entire park was Easter-themed! I was blown away by how beautiful everything was, and how Disney really puts in effort to make every experience in Disneyland magical *___*
