Can I just declare Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars as my favourite ride in Hong Kong Disneyland? It's considered a thrill ride with relatively big drops (compared to the other rides in the theme park) and it even featured a backward drop.



We liked the ride so much we took it twice despite running out of time in Hong Kong Disneyland (because we stopped everywhere to take photos what the heck hahaha #vaingirlsproblem)

We walked back into Main Street, where most Disney stores are located at. Main Street is also where you'll find most street performances and Meet & Greets with your favourite Disney characters. Us, being the girls that we are, obviously took every photo opportunity available, and even asked the staff if we could hold the balloons for some photos.

Lots of Tsum Tsum! 2016 was the peak of Tsum Tsum craze.

A middle-aged man followed us around the store and told us he had been observing us for some time — as if it was supposed to be a compliment. He wasn't even there with his grandkids or elderly wife, he was just there alone! I wonder if people actually pay to enter Disneyland to give name cards to young girls like us... In the above photo, I was holding the name card he insistently shove towards us. Guess I'll never find out his motive because I lost his name card long ago.

Duffy bear bottles

I was seriously considering buying a Duffy bear water bottle (~SGD $13) because it was soooo adorableeeeee! But decided against it because every single friend I showed it to said I was being impulsive. But come on, Duffy bear is so cute! How can you ever say no to that? T__T

Since we didn't buy anything for ourselves from Hong Kong Disneyland (only souvenirs for family and friends), we bought ice cream for photo opportunities. Just girls' things.

Brought my Sony camera and Huji Cam, my recent obsession, out to play a few days back. The rain didn't stop us from going on rides in Marina Bay Carnival which I have been to a grand total of four times since its opening less than a month ago. Jeez, is there really nothing else to do in Singapore? (Spoiler: there isn't.) The carnival runs from 15 December 2017 to 1 April 2018 so you have about three more months to find yourself a date to bring you there.

Anyway, most photos are not going on Instagram because it doesn't fit my ~theme~ (gosh, what a millenial problem) so I'm dumping them here since I already edited them on Lightroom. The photos with dates on them were taken with App Store's Huji Cam, and the rest were taken with Sony a6000. Gifs are made with Boomerang, found on Apple App Store and Google Play Store.


If you don't already know, there's two sides to the carnival. The one at The Promontory @ Marina Bay (pictured below) has more kiddy rides while the side nearer to Bayfront Event Space (pictured above) caters more to adults with their thrilling rides. The nearest MRT is Bayfront MRT Station.

The End of The F***ing World is a television adaptation of the comic book, The End of The Fucking World. It was released on Netflix worldwide on 5 January 2018. I'm usually not a fan of Westerm dramas (I prefer reading or watching Taiwanese movies) but The End of the F***ing World's dark humour caught my attention. What do you know? I finished all eight episodes in one sitting.


It’s a bit of an aged-old story now: boy who doesn’t understand feelings, therefore, doesn’t believe in love meets free-spirited girl. They fall in love until tragedy strikes. Nicknamed modern day Bonnie and Clyde, The End of The F***ing World takes things up a notch with James notoriously proclaims his fantasy of murdering someone, namely Alyssa, the girl with an uncensored mouth.


I love The End of The F***ing World! I announced it on Instagram immediately after finishing The End of The F***ing World's season finale and persuaded all my friends to watch it. In fact, I love it with such a burning passion, I'm writing an entire post about what I love about The End of The F***ing World, and already wrote another on my favourite quotes from Alyssa and James.

Albeit out of the way, it was easy to get to Hong Kong Disneyland via MTR. If you're coming from Hong Kong city area, you'll have to switched to Disneyland Resort Line at Sunny Bay Station. Thereafter, Disneyland Resort Station is just one stop away. The trains at Disneyland Resort Line are Disney-themed and you'll see many tourists (me, ahem) snapping away.


Hong Kong Disneyland is very sentimental place for me; when they opened Hong Kong Disneyland 12 years ago in 2006, I was only ten and travelling out of Southeast Asia was an unattainable dream. A decade later, I made it to my first Disneyland. After I graduated and started working, I set foot in countries I only dared to dream about previously.

They say Disneyland is where dreams come true and I believe this is only the beginning. There are so many places I've yet to explore, so many other Disneylands in the world I wanna visit. I can't wait till the day I can say I set foot in every nook and cranny of the world. Slowly, but surely :)


We made our way to Hong Kong Disneyland early in the morning and the queue for tickets was already super long! Thankfully, we got our Disneyland tickets online and managed to skip the queue by just redeeming our tickets at the ticketing koisk.





We were there on 8 March 2016, right before Easter so the entire park was Easter-themed! I was blown away by how beautiful everything was, and how Disney really puts in effort to make every experience in Disneyland magical *___*

A few quotes from the newest Netflix release, The End of the F***ing World, reminded me of you. Us. The aberrant yet remarkable feeling we shared that left me curious and cautious, all at the same time. Like Alyssa and James, who each had their own reasons for their actions — perhaps selfish, but definitely genuine. Maybe some would even see them as cries for help.

Episode 1

Alyssa: I get these moments when I have to lie down because everything feels sort of too much. And I look up and see the blue, or the grey, or the black, and I feel myself melting into it. And, for like a split second, I feel free and happy.

Argyle Centre

Chelsea and I were huge shopaholics back then; after lunch, we quickly found ourselves in Argyle Centre, situated in the middle of Mong Kok, famed for its cheap shopping! We also visited Sneakers Street, Langham Place, and Ladies' Market, all of which are within walking distances from each other. I didn't take photos of all the places because I was, uh, busy shopping.

I hung around Hong Kong International Airport waiting for Chelsea to land while leeching on the airport wifi. Once she arrived, we got our Octopus Cards and began our journey!


First stop: Citygate Outlets, the biggest outlet mall in Hong Kong. Like I mentioned in my Gold Coast outlet shopping post, I enjoy travelling to each city's outlet malls so heading to Citygate Outlets made sense since 1) it's near to the airport and 2) it wasn't time for us to check in to our hotel yet.

We were a little disheartened that we didn't buy anything because, unlike in Gold Coast, there wasn't exactly any crazy good deals screaming at us in Citygate Outlets.

We left Citygate Outlets after an hour or two and, typical of Chelsea and me, we stopped somewhere along Tung Chung Station to take photos with our luggage. Forgive us, we were fresh grads who were stepping out of Singapore for the first time in forever!

 I stayed in their Premier Room (Barrier-Free) for four nights. Le Prabelle Hotel's Premier Room (Barrier-Free) room came with a bathtub, which is extremely rare for hotels in Hong Kong, and a king-sized bed. I paid HKD 3,317.60 (approx. SGD $592 in March 2016) for the room.


Because Le Prabelle Hotel's Premier Room (Barrier-Free) room is meant to be wheelchair-accessible, its bathroom is spacious. Although the bathtub is a little shallow, it's good enough. The bathtub would be marvellous during Hong Kong's colder months; I had a good time soaking in the bathtub in March and didn't want to get out!


Le Prabelle Hotel provides free breakfast of a small snack and a packet drink every morning till 11am. They have free coffee, tea and some cookies in the room for your enjoyment too.

The room came with hairdryer, kettle, towels etc. For more facilities, you may to go Le Prabelle's website.


I doubt I'll go back to Le Prabelle Hotel, and strongly advised my friends against booking a room with Le Prabelle Hotel despite their excellent location.

I haven't been to Hong Kong enough to know if all hotels are like that, but Le Prabelle Hotel was inflexible with changing of booking dates, and check-in check-out timings. All of which I understand since I booked my room with the early bird price.

But I cannot accept Le Prabelle Hotel's insistence that we leave HKD1000 as deposit at the front desk. That messed with our budget quite a bit, especially since we were on a short trip and didn't bring a lot of cash. I travel a lot but I have never stayed at a hotel that requires a cash deposit, especially when it wasn't stated in their website.

For that very reason, I will not recommend Le Prabelle Hotel to my friends travelling to Hong Kong.
